Dharamshala Mcleodganj photos and videos

Mcleodganj (or Mcleod Ganj) was one of our first stops, and remains one of our favourites. After the debacle in Delhi with lost baggage and supreme chaos, it was here in the foothills of the Himalayas that our journey in India truly began. Here are some of our favourite photos.

This is the video of our overnight bus journey from Delhi to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj with a time lapse sunrise, and a little bit of the interior of the Green Hotel where we stayed at.

Mcleodganj is of course the home of the Dalai Lama. His temple is open to the public and filled with worshippers and tourists alike. After checking out the temple, we have lunch at Peace Cafe, then revisit a local school where I volunteered at three years ago. The kids were delighted to see the video camera.

The last video is my walk down Temple Street, from the Dalai Lama’s Temple to the town square. In an effort to travel light, I did not bring sufficient counter weights for my Glidecam, so I apologize for the camera work in advance. It’s still watchable for those seeking nostalgia.
